Margaret Stansbury Stockton was born on September 10, 1894, at Williamsport, Indiana, the daughter of Eli and Ella Fisher Stansbury. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1912 and obtained an A.B. from Indiana University in 1917. In 1924 she obtained an A.M. degree with a major in philosophy and a minor in sociology. The subject of her thesis was "The Influence of Religion and Ethics Upon economic Theory" of which there is a copy in the collection. Mrs. Stockton married Dr....
